ROSELIND GULLO BOGNER, PH.D., LMHC, CPPE
Roselind is in her sixth year as an assistant professor in the College of Education, Department of Educational
Leadership and Counseling at Niagara University in Lewiston, New York. She previously held the position of Visiting
Clinical Assistant Professor in the College of Education, Department of Counseling and Educational Psychology, The
State University of New York at Buffalo. Dr. Bogner has also taught graduate courses as an adjunct professor in
The School of Education and Human Services, Canisius College in Buffalo, New York. For 28 years she was a school
counselor at the high school and middle school levels in Western New York. In addition, she has two years of
experience as a teacher in the sixth grade. Her educational credentials include: Bachelor of Arts in Psychology
(SUNY at Buffalo), Masters in Elementary Education (SUNY at Buffalo), Doctor of Philosophy in Counselor Education
(SUNY at Buffalo), and Certificate of Advanced Studies in School Administration (SUC at Fredonia). She is a licensed
mental health counselor and a NAPP certified peer program educator, consultant and trainer.
At Niagara University Dr. Bogner co-coordinates the school counseling program and chairs the Program and Assessment
Committee, which analyzes and approves new and revised curriculum for the College of Education. Dr.Bogner is the
University's liaison for The Education Trust's Center for Transforming School Counseling, which is a national
initiative. Currently she serves on the editorial board for the New York State School Counseling Journal, which is
published by the New York State School Counselor Association (NYSSCA). She is an active member of the board of
directors for the National Association of Peer Programs. As the Vice President for Professional Development for the
New York Counselors Association (NYCA), she coordinated a successful state convention last year in Rochester,
New York. From 2006-2008 she was a vice president for Alpha Lambda chapter of Delta Kappa Gamma International Society
for Women in Education. In addition, she is a member of many local and national professional educational and
counseling associations.
Dr. Bogner's favorite professional presentation and research topics are: "Developing and Implementing Peer Helping Programs Which Enhance
School Counseling Programs", "Early Warning Signs of Violence in Children", "Strategies for Promoting Asset Development in Youth", "The Changing
Role of the School Counselor", and "Bullying and Relational Aggression in girls."
