Alex is an educator, clinical psychologist, and author of three books, and numerous articles. His most recent book, Resiliency in the Face of Disaster
and Terrorism: 10 Things to Do to Survive, a pocket guide to help people prevent, prepare for and
recover from traumatic events. He is Co-director of Resiliency LLC, a professional
organization providing leadership training in disaster human outreach services.
He was Deputy Director of the Community Crisis Response Team in Fort Lee (NJ), now serves on the Bergen County (NJ) Trauma Response Team.
Over the past 27 years he has developed, trained and field tested more than 100 peer prevention programs in schools and agencies
including peer programs in bicycle safety, anti-bias, violence prevention, and crisis awareness. His contributions to the NAPP include
former service on the Board of Directors, Assistant Editor of the Peer Facilitator Quarterly, and currently, co-chair of the Professional
Development Committee.
