Susan Hutchins Routson (Sue)

Sue was a NPHA/NAPP member from 1992 to 2009 and chaired the NAPP Award Committee from 2003 to 2009. She has been founding State President of the Indiana Peer Programs Association since 2002. In July of 2009, she became one of the founding members of NAPPP and serves on its Board of Directors.

Since 1974, Sue has trained 500+ adults to deliver youth programs which build self-esteem, leadership, positive self-concept, and sound decision-making. In 1986, Sue created and serves as Executive Director of the Peer Information Center for Teens, Inc. 726 PICT Peer Helpers have given more than 125,000 hours of service, serving 5-6,000+ same age and younger peers each year. Awards include the first Indiana Governor's Community Service and Volunteerism Award in 2006; NAPP 2002 Peer Program of the Year; first NAPP Certified Peer Program (2002);Youth Service America Healthy Living and Prevention Award (1995); President's Volunteer Action group (1990); Governor's Volunteer Action Group (1990); Lilly Organizational Renewal Program (1988); Indiana Exemplary Youth Organization (1987).

Sue's personal awards include Girl Scout Thanks Badge (1986); United Way Community Leader of the Year (1988); Indiana Youth Institute Leadership Associate (2000); Altrusa Woman of the Year (2002); and 2005 Lilly Endowment Journey Fellow.
